 | | Whitt in action at Jacksonville PMT |
The name Cole Whitt has spread across the country like a wild fire over the past couple of years. Just over the past season, the 11 year old California native dominated the IKF Region Seven Championship Series where he went on to Marshalltown, Iowa and blistered the competition with five poles and four junior class wins at the Sprint Grand Nationals. From there, he went on to the WKA Grands to test the water in WKA at Dousman. He earned two poles and two WKA national titles. He's added 60cc shifters to his Yamaha class competition and again proved he was dominant in the Mission Region.

This year, Cole has moved up into the 80cc Junior Competition and handled his upgrade well with a win in the hotly contested 80cc Formula Junior class at Jacksonville with a pole and two feature wins. Next stop will be round one of the Western ProMoto Tour and he will contest the 2003 season in the Region 7 Championship Series, IKF Grands, WKA Grands, Stars of Tomorrow and SKUSA competiton.
Cole’s parents, Tobin and Kim, not only take his racing seriously, but his education as well. It is not uncommon to see Kim working with Cole on homework at the track or hotel room and he scores excellent grades as well. In addition, he plays golf and other sports quite well. How do they find time for all of this? They are able to fly in to the races with assistance from Jason Bowles who transports the equipment to the track and helps them at the races.
