It is approaching the fourth meeting of the WSK International Series that is a turning point for the international karting series, at its fourth season. It is a journey to Central Europe. The direction is Genk, a splendid city in the Flanders that from June 11 th to 14 th is going to host the series planned by WSK Promotion. The Flemish round will take place in an international crossroads comprising Belgium, Holland and Germany, within a radius of few kilometres. Ultimately, it is a perfect location to underline the manycoloured and most of all multicultural features of the WSK International Series.
It is thanks to its coalmines that Genk, a city of Celtic origin, had a starting economic growth. After the changeover to car industry, old mines have been converted into meeting places, whereas the historic district of Genk has been turned into a shopping centre.
Horensbergdam circuit standing nearby the city, 81 meters above sea level, underlines the close link of Genk with the automotive world. The track is 1350 meters long, in a clockwise direction and varying from 8,5 to 12 meters wide. A broad carriageway as well as long straights permits easy overtaking on a track ground with a good grip.
KZ2 will be back in Belgium, at its second seasonal round as top class. Dutch Bas Lammers (Intrepid-TM) will race close at home and will have to defend the leadership gained in Sarno (Italy), in the opening round for his class. French Manuel Renaudie (Gillard-SGM) at the second place above Belgian Rick Dreezen (CRG-Maxter) will try and reach him. They both will have no easy task of giving an answer to Lammers, achieving an excellent double success in the first round, both in Prefinal and Final. In this turn of rest for Super KF that will be back to compete at the WSK in the Spanish round in Zuera, a further subject of interest will be the presence of every karting top driver. Indeed, it will be not simple to reckon with the current top drivers, among them Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart-Vortex), Alessandro Piccini (Intrepid-TM), Jonathan Thonon (CRG-Maxter), Alessandro Manetti (AM-TM), Roberto Toninelli (CKR-TM), Davide Forè (CRG-Maxter) and Francesco Laudato (Birel-TM).
First three seasonal races were not sufficient to British Ben Cooper (Tony Kart-Vortex), ranking second, to snatch the leadership from Italian Matteo Viganò (Birel-Parilla). At the fourth round also Swedish Mans Grenhagen (Energy-TM), back from his previous win in Castelletto (Italy), will join in the chase for the title. Regarding the ranking, a mention to drivers in very good fettle, like French Brandon Maisano (Intrepid-TM), Polish Karol Basz (RK-Parilla) and Neapolitan Aniello Smarrazzo (Tony Kart-Vortex).
Thus far, a sparring match between Russian Daniil Kvyat (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Dutch Nyck De Vries (Zanardi-Parilla) characterized KF3. They two, at the first two places in the ranking, have been alternatively winners, followed by Spanish Carlos Sainz (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Italian Raffaele Marciello (Intrepid-TM). Anyway, English drivers ranking below them, namely Jordan King (Maranello-Maxter), very positive in the last races, and Alexandre Albon (Tony Kart-TM) confirmed themselves as opponents to be feared.
