| GPO Karting Series Readies for Essay |

The Essay Grand Prix Open Karting FFSA, third round of the 2009 French Championship, has several particularly attractive features for the best drivers in international karting. Since their debut in March, the GPOs have already built an excellent reputation, but the Essay GPO, held on 4, 5, 6 and 7 June, will be the not-to-miss event. Indeed, it will be a sort of general rehearsal before the European Super KF & KF2 Championship, which will be held on this same track in early August, and several among the most competitive teams have already announced their presence. In addition to that, during this GPO, the FFSA will hold its French Super KF Championship in a single race, a great challenge to face, indeed. Do not miss it, register now!
Now that competition among teams is increasingly heated, every occasion is good to come and train before an important event. In this framework, the Essay Grand Prix Open Karting FFSA is the only preparatory round for European Super KF & KF2 Championships. The Essay track is seldom available for training and it does not offer the opportunity to carry out effective tests between daily sessions of rent karts. The Essay GPO will therefore allow teams to fine tune their equipment under race conditions. Moreover, foreign drivers who do not know the Essay track layout yet, will have, at the GPO, the best opportunity to learn the subtleties of the track with a view to the European meeting. The Super KF category will have additional free practice sessions on Thursday morning and will be allowed to use the European Championship tyres.
Sodi, Chiesa Corse, Maréchal Motosport, PDB, EGP, and Intrepid were among the first to show their interest in the Essay GPO, and other teams will follow suit. This competition risks being very hard fought! Moreover, recent European KF2 qualifying rounds have shown that drivers who attend a preparatory round really have a net advantage.
In order to be ready for the European Super KF Championship, Bridgestone will organise its famous official tests the day after the GPO, on the Essay track, which means another good reason to be in Normandy.
Moreover, there will be 2 titles at stake at the Essay GPO. For the first time in a long time, the FFSA will hold the French Championship of the top category in a single meeting: the French Drivers Title and the French Constructors Title (chassis) will be awarded in the Super KF on Sunday night, at the end of the two-day event. Adding one’s name to the prestigious roll of honour of the French Championship is certainly an important source of publicity!
And, icing on the cake, the GPOs have developed an aggressive communication strategy, which offers all participants wide media exposure on the press, the Internet and TV. With such important stakes, both in KF2 and Super KF, the Essay GPO will offer a really attractive opportunity to come to France for teams interested in bringing with them a high number of drivers, in addition to KF3 and KZ2. |
