Trackmagic Racing Karts is proud to announce a renewed relationship with karting star and Grand-Am Rolex Series driver Memo Gidley. Over the course of his career, Gidley has raced and won in just about everything that moves. Starting with sailboats and BMX bikes in his youth, Gidley moved on to motocross before winning the USAC Russell Championship Series in his rookie season, then karts, FF2000, Champ Cars, Speed World Challenge, ALMS prototypes and currently, Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototypes for the #77 McDonalds/Doran Racing team.

Along the way, Gidley formed a bond with American racing kart manufacturer Trackmagic and its owner, the late Fausto Vitello, who was one of the biggest influences of his career. Memo also has helped guide thousands of new karters with his “Secrets of Speed” book series and various clinics and schools. Gidley has never been far from the seat of a kart, competing in the Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge series and famed the SKUSA SuperNationals events. As part of reuniting with Trackmagic, Gidley will help develop chassis across the range of the company’s adult karts. The Grand-Am driver will also compete in select karting events such as the ProKart Challenge, SKUSA SuperNationals and PRI All-Stars Karting Classic. Trackmagic will also be offering a Memo Gidley signature line of chassis, racing parts and driving suits.

“Memo Gidley is a true American racing hero and Trackmagic is extremely happy to have him back in our karts,” said Mike Pickman - President of Trackmagic. “I have gotten to know Memo over the last few years because of my involvement with him in Grand Am. He has had a huge impact on karting with his ‘Secrets of Speed’ book series and karting clinics. We see those efforts aligning well with our vision for Trackmagic and growing karting overall. Gidley also brings incredible experience in professional competition at all levels - his input will be a valuable contribution as we develop innovative new products for racers.”

“Karting has given a lot to me over the years and I am excited to be a part of Trackmagic’s vision for growing the industry,” says Gidley. “With everything that I have had the opportunity to drive, I still really enjoy racing karts and going up against great kart drivers who have the same drive to win that I do. I am looking forward to using my experience to help Mike put Trackmagic back on top in the US market, and to continue bringing new karters into this sport that I love and that has given me so much.”

Gidley will be competing aboard the Trackmagic brand on April 18 at the second round of the ProKart Challenge North program at the Jim Russell International Karting Circuit at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Trackmagic Racing Karts, located in Benicia, California, is a leader in the design and development of high performance racing karts, supporting a full product line from cadet to shifter models.
