eKartingNews.com to Debut New ‘Trackside Live’ Page

In the warmer states around the country, the 2009 season is well underway as a number of events have already taken place during the first two months of the year. For the staff at eKartingNews.com, the Snap-on Stars of Karting series opener at the Ocala Gran Prix this coming weekend will be our first road trip, and we’re dying to get out of the cold and into the sunshine. Also creating excitement for this opening weekend, the site is proud to release the newest editorial effort for the site, our upgraded ‘eKartingNews.com Trackside Live’ section that will be dedicated to event coverage for the upcoming season.

The new EKN Trackside Live suite will bring together all the facets of event coverage that the website has provided in the past, bolstered by a few new features that will be introduced this weekend in Ocala. The centralized page for event coverage will provide every type of information that you could be looking for. New for this weekend will be the EKN TV portion of the package. Utilizing the new Mogulus Live Broadcast platform for the Internet, eKartingNews.com will provide live video and audio of the action both on and off the track. The EKN TV broadcasts will include action from the track, but will primarily focus on live interviews and taped segments throughout the weekend, as we aim to hook up with the many karting personalities who will be in attendance.

“Our new Trackside Live package will grow little by little this year,” commented EKN News Desk Manager David Cole. “Our goal is to provide the best coverage possible, no matter where our travels take us. The EKN TV portion is a large project to undertake and it will improve each time we attend an event. The 2009 season is shaping up to be busy and very exciting for us here at EKN.”

In addition to the EKN TV, a collection of new aspects of coverage will be introduced. In an effort to keep everyone as informed as possible, the EKN Trackside Live page will provide the ‘EKN News Desk’, along with the Event and Circuit Information. The ‘News Desk’ will be a collection of all the news stories and press releases regarding the event in question, while the Event and Circuit Information section put a great deal of cool details just a click away.

"We've always tried to bring new levels of race coverage to EKN each year, last season leveraging our forums to deliver instant top-10s to our readers even before the drivers had come to a stop at the scales," offers EKN Editor-in-Chief Rob Howden. "Bill Wright and his Florida Winter Tour crew certainly raised the bar this year by introducing live video and live timing, which is really exciting. We're going to play around with it this weekend and will then build on the program throughout the year."

The Official Event Discussion in the forums will continue as usual, a thread that will includes our trackside updates along with top-10 results after each session. This will be the focal point for viewer’s feedback and comments. The Event Gallery, direct from the Photos section of EKN, completes the package for the first Trackside Live event of the season with more features to be added as the year goes on.
