Tony Kart Racing Team Announces 2009 Drivers

The agonistic season is getting closer and Tony Kart Racing Team is pleased to present you the drivers line-up defending their team colours in 2009.

The appointments of the Tony Kart Racing Team, always coordinated and managed with great professionalism by Giacomo Aliprandi, will have a significant technical value since, for the three-year period 2009/2011 they have developed, produced and homologated new technical solutions which will made their début this year.

The “main weapon” will be the Racer EVR model, provided with all the most refined and innovative components and it will also have the new OTK M4 sideboxes developed in the wind tunnel.

The drivers, driving the new Tony Kart EVR and Krypton KRX equipped with Vortex engine, will be the World Champion Marco Ardigò and the experienced and fast English Gary Catt. Both will race in the in the following professional categories: the new one “Super KF” and the KZ1. Ardigò and Catt have in their agonistic program all the CIK-FIA international competitions of the Winter Cup and the WSK Series.

The line-up in KF2 will be composed by four young talented drivers: the Italian Aniello Smarrazzo and Ignazio D’Agosto, the Filipino Stefano Marcelo and the Japanese Yu Kanamaru. The Tony Kart Racing Team program includes also for KF2 drivers all the most prestigious CIK FIA international competitions of the Winter Cup and the whole WSK Series.

The team created by Tony Kart and Vortex management is a balanced mix of experienced drivers and young drivers, who has a growing agonistic and professional potential. The technical decisions taken by their factory make them look at the imminent agonistic appointments with optimisms, they are sure that, thanks to the hard work carried out on the new homologated models, they will have the possibility to gained further successes and to keep on doing what Tony Kart Racing Team did in 2008.

Giacomo Aliprandi – Team Manager Tony Kart Racing Team
“We will use the new homologated material, in particular the new EVR model with all the technical solutions that we studied. This aspect gives us a further stimulus, a challenge in the challenge, we will implemented on the track what we developed in the best way in the factory. Regarding the KF1 drivers, Marco and Gary have a great experience and talent, with them we will compete in the two top classes, the Super Rok and KZ. For KF2 we have a group of four drivers that, with our technical and organizing support, will have the possibility to grow and stood out aiming to important results.”

Marco Ardigò – driver Tony Kart Racing Team, KF1 and KZ
“As far as I am concerned, I will be engaged in both categories again, the new KF and the KZ, I hope to do well as I did in the past year. I will be at Team’s disposal for tests and to give my support to the new drivers, who has just arrived, in order to help them to become familiar with the new working methodology of our Racing Team.”

Gary Catt – driver Tony Kart Racing Team, KF1
“In KF1, everybody knows Marco and I, we are at the beginning of a new season and I am really motivated, I hope to do well. I am happy to compete also in KZ, from one side, it is a new category for me and I hope to gain good results, when I drove in KZ I liked it very much and I also hope that this program will allow me to learn and improve also in KF. When I did the World Cup in KZ1, in 2007, I didn’t gain the result that I wanted, it is a difficult class, where it is not possible to reach good results already at the beginning if you don’t have a specific experience. This year I will do more tests before facing the CIK appointment in KZ and I will be ready to do well also in KZ.”

Aniello Smarrazzo - Tony Kart Racing Team 2009 driver, KF2
“Doing a parallelism with the cars world, for me driving a Tony Kart is like driving a Ferrari, so you can understand the emotion that I feel when I go down to the track to defend the official Tony Kart-Vortex colours. I will have to work hard with the Racing Team, I will try to do my best in order to cut a fine figure. I want to do well for all the team and to show the high potential of the material that I have at my disposal.”

Ignazio D’Agosto - Tony Kart Racing Team 2009 driver,KF2
“I realized my greatest dream: I become an official driver Tony Kart-Vortex. I am really happy, but also extremely concentrated, determined and aware that I still have many things to learn. It’s a long time that I run with karts, but I still have to work hard in order to become a professional driver. I am doing my best from all the points of view, I train myself, I study English and I take care of every important aspects related to my 2009 activity. My saying is “impossible is nothing” and when I have an aim I do everything in order to reach it.”

Stefano Marcelo - Tony Kart Racing Team 2009 driver, KF2
“The collaboration with Tony Kart and Vortex is a great opportunity which will allow me to compete at an international level. I am glad to have be chosen among hundreds of talented drivers all over the world. I will do my best in order to reach good results and I am aware to have at my disposal an excellent technical material. The Tony Kart Racing Team is a fantastic team, characterized by great professionalism, efficiency and team spirit.I am looking forward to starting to work with them all.”

Yu Kanamru - Tony Kart Racing Team 2009 driver, KF2
“The Tony Kart Racing Team is one of the greatest team in the karting world. I want to do a great experience in order to do my best during the international events and my aim is to reach successful results.
