| Champion Racing/Intrepid Enter Three Karters in All-Stars Karting Classic |
| |
The Snap-on Stars of Karting Series is pleased to confirm Champion Racing / Intrepid will compete in the 2008 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic. With the on track action taking place adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, TaG front runners Joey Wimsett, Blake Teeter and Tyler Dueck will look to battle for victory in the karter division.
“Champion Racing has one of the largest contingents of drivers in participation at Stars of Karting events,” stated Stars of Karting Jeff Swoboda. “Oregon pilot Joey Wimsett was a contender for race wins all season long in national level action and will likely be one of the drivers to beat on December 11.”
Wimsett enters the All-Stars Karting Classic after claiming the runner-up position in the 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting TaG category. After claiming two series victories and multiple podiums, Wimsett just missed out on the overall title but will look to complete his season with an All-Stars Karting Classic win.
Joining Wimsett aboard an Intrepid chassis will be Italian Formula Renault pilot and former Stars of Karting front runner Tyler Dueck. After a successful 2007 racing season, Dueck was given the opportunity to compete in the Italian Formula Renault Championship. After careful consideration and weighing through offers in both open wheel and NASCAR driver development programs, Tyler made the move to Europe with the front running Cram Competition team. After returning to home soil and tuning for some of the country’s top karting stars throughout ’08, Dueck will get back behind the wheel in Florida.
Intrepid driver Blake Teeter will battle wheel-to-wheel with today’s top karting stars as he has also entered the All-Stars Karting Classic. Using 2008 to compete on both the east and west coast in the Stars of Karting championship, Teeter will travel with the team to Florida as he looks to showcase his talent in front of several thousand motorsports enthusiasts.
With drivers including AJ Allmendinger, Marco Andretti, Townsend Bell, Antron Brown, Ron Capps, Ed Carpenter, Cristiano Da Matta, Joey Hand, Bryan Herta, Jan Heylen, Jay Howard, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Jamie McMurray, Vitor Meira, Oswaldo Negri, Max Papis, Nelson Phillipe, Will Power, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Alex Tagliani and Dan Wheldon already confirmed for action in the Masters division, December 11th is set to be a very special night.
