Screaming Talent Debuts Maranello Chassis at All-Stars Karting Classic

Screaming Talent along with the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series is pleased to announce that British pilot Jay Howard will compete in the Masters division at the 2008 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) All-Stars Karting Classic. Also competing on the Maranello product line will be Indy Lights competitor Cyndie Allemann and Stars of Karting front runner Spencer Pigot, as both will do battle in the Karters class on the evening of December 11th on a temporary course adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

“Screaming Talent has always supported the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series and this is their second consecutive season attending the All-Stars Karting Classic,” stated Stars of Karting President Paul Zalud. “The team has made a big switch to the Maranello brand in the past month and they are looking to debut well at the show and event.”

Howard, who made five IndyCar Series starts in 2008 with Roth Racing, has been a fixture on the podium in motorsports action for several years. The talented British driver darted his way up the karting ladder in Europe claiming several race wins and multiple championships along the way. Car racing has been the same for Howard as in 2003 he claimed the Formula Renault 2000 UK Winter Championship before turning his assault to North America. In 2005, Howard garnered the US Formula Ford Zetec Championship before moving to the Indy Pro Series (now Indy Lights). In his first season of competition with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, the now Maranello dealer scored two race wins, the Rookie-of-the-Year award and the overall series championship.

Joining Howard under the Screaming Talent banner and aboard the Maranello product line are Switzerland’s Cyndie Allemann and Florida’s Spencer Pigot. Allemann has years of karting experience including becoming the European Junior champion in 2000 and won a round of the European Formula A Championship. The talented female also won a gratifying race at the International Trophy of Fagnes while competing with the Factory Tony Kart team before moving to car racing. Competing in Formula Renault and then Formula 3, Allemann was the highest placing women and garnered a fifth pace result in the Rookie Cup in 2006.

Floridian Spencer Pigot is a current front-runner in the Snap-On Stars of Karting Series. The talented junior scored a win in his rookie season in 2007 as well as a fifth place result in the championship. Before that, Pigot battled hard for race wins and championships in the Cadet division in ’06.

2008 saw Pigot and Allemann team-up at the 200 Mile TaG Endurance Race at the New Castle Motorsports Park where they had a very strong showing. Leading the majority of the race laps, scoring one of the quickest laps of the event and leading by 45 seconds with less than 20 miles to go, it looked as if the duo would score the victory before a rear sprocket failure took them out of the event. As all racers do, Pigot and Allemann have put the disappointment behind them and will now concentrate on claiming victory at the All-Stars Karting Classic.

Howard will join AJ Allmendinger, Marco Andretti, Townsend Bell, Antron Brown Ron Capps, Ed Carpenter, Cristiano Da Matta, Jan Heylen, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Jamie McMurray, Vitor Meira, Oswaldo Negri, Max Papis, Nelson Phillipe, Will Power, Buddy Rice, Scott Speed, Alex Tagliani and Dan Wheldon in the Masters division. A series of further driver announcements are forthcoming for this prestigious event.

With a host of driver announcements and news forthcoming, please stay tuned to http://www.StarsofKarting.com for up-to-date information. The PRI show takes place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida from December 11-13 with the All-Stars Karting Classic taking place on the evening of December 11. Admission to the event is free along with a PRI show credential.
