| 2008 International Rok Cup Final Preview |

The International Rok Final is on the doorstep, the organization proceeds quickly to culminate with the fantastic party-event that, from October 16th to 19th, will focus the attention of the fans to the South Garda circuit at Lonato.
280 ‘Rokkers’ will arrive coming from all around the world, representing 30 countries and four continents: Africa, Europe, America and Asia. All these Rok drivers are divided in the four Rok category: Rok, Super Rok, Junior Rok and Mini Rok.
Rok International Team 2008: the absolute novelty of the Rok International Final 2008 edition is the assignment of the prize reserved to the countries. The strongest national team in every category will be decorated with the “International Rok Team 2008” title. This new Championship, as mentioned reserved to the countries, will be assigned to the national team that will get the best score with its drivers. The ranking will be drawn up adding the penalties got by drivers of the national team in each category during the Final race. Any national Team will choose two drivers for each category (8 drivers overall), the names of the drivers will have to be communicate to the organization not later than Thursday evening (October 16th) and will be chosen between the first two classified of each National Championship.
Bridgestone, Dell’Ortoe Sparco Cup: to the traditional sponsor of the Rok, Bridgestone, Dell’Orto and Sparco are dedicated the three Final races reserved to the drivers out of the Final. The Bridgestone Cup is reserved to the Junior Rok drivers, the Dell’Orto Cup is dedicated to the Rok and the Sparco to the Super.
Rok Meeting: on Thursday, before the beginning of the interesting and spectacular races, there will be the sport and technical seminaries. At the meeting point, at the end of the free practice (6 p.m.), Marco Ardigò and Gary Catt will show the secrets of the South Garda track. Moreover will be introduced to the international rokkers the new Dell’Orto carburettor D30 that will be used from the next season, in place of the current 36 mm.
Rok Mini: also this year is counted a big flow of drivers like in the other categories. Steven Brotto ( Italy) will defend the title gained on 2007. The very young Italian rokker will find a lot of strong competitors that during the 2008 have cut their teeth and now are ready to win the title in the Mini Rok. Among these talented drivers can’t be forgotten D’Angelo, the winner of the National Final.
Rok Junior: this category is reaching a very big success, thanks to the engine the performance of this class are very similar to the international category KF3. For this reason a lot of young talents have chosen the Junior Rok to train themselves before approaching the challenging KF. In the last edition the young Pole Maciej Bernacik won the race at the end of a spectacular and exciting fight and others two rokkers from the East Europe got on the podium with him, the Czech Jan Midrla and Jacub Glowacki.
Media: the event will be follow by the most prestigious sport magazines and web sites, very pleased to have journalist coming from all around the world. A very important sign of the prestige of the International Final is the attendance of local Tv programs that will follow the braveries of their countrymen. The official Tv of the event is Stop & Go that will issue the program on SKY SPORT CHANNEL (SKY 955),and on next Monday will be possible to watch the Final races on the Rok web site. Speakers of the event will be the two journalist Yanek Sterzel (Editor of the magazine TK Tutto Kart) and Giulio Rizzo (Peroni Group Race / ZR), the first one will be the Italian voice and the second will translate in English the International Final Rok 2008.
Prizes: as always the prizes are fantastic.
The winners will receive one chassis with the Rok engine offered by the Birel, CRG and Tony Kart, moreover there will be Bridgestone tyre and others prizes from Sparco and Dell’Orto for all the best qualified drivers and for the races reserved to drivers excluded from the Finals. Among these fantastic prizes stands out the chance for the winners to participate at the 2008 Macau Grand Prix that will take place from November 28th to 30th. |
