 | | 2008 Stars of Karting National Finals track layout |
With the Snap-on Stars of Karting Series National Finals just around the corner, series officials are pleased to announce the proposed track layout for the October 10-12 event. Located on the grounds of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the National Finals circuit will be similar to last season’s finale event with some minor modifications to the track design.
On what was a great layout for the 2007 series ending race, Stars of Karting went to work to slightly improve the infield section that caused some problems during last year’s on track action. This year’s edition of the National Finals will be run on a 16 corner temporary circuit with a combination of both fast and slow corners with deep technical braking zones. The layout will provide some serious wheel-to-wheel racing action as five national champions will be crowned.
“Circulating next to the NASCAR garages in the infield of one of the largest Speedways in the US is simply amazing,” stated Snap-on Stars of Karting President Paul Zalud. “Not to mention we have the air force pilots flying over head throughout the day bringing great views to series participants and spectators over the championship winning weekend.”
Following Friday’s on-track practice session, the series will host the 2008 Series banquet in the incredible Blackjack Room in the infield media center at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Social Hour presented by Formula BMW Americas will run from 7:00-8:00pm with all attendees receiving one beverage ticket courtesy of Formula BMW. Dinner and presentations awarding the top-five from the East and West Divisions of the series will take place from 8:00-9:30pm where attendance for the top five in divisional points is mandatory. Cost to attend is $40 and registration forms can be found online at the Stars of Karting website.
eKartingNews.com will be providing ‘Trackside Live’ coverage throughout the week, beginning with previews of the championship chases in all five divisions Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before hitting the track Friday. To discuss the event, visit the Official Discussion Thread. |
