Only few weeks before the 2013 International Karting season takes off, Birel management have announced one of the “greatest” deals on the driver market, making George Russell’s KF engagement official.

It is acknowledged that the English driver is one of the best talents on the karting scene, as well as the only to have secured two prestigious KF3 CIK-FIA European titles in a row (2011 and 2012). As a matter of fact, Russell’s career has been a success since his very debut, in England in 2006, when he was immediately awarded "Rookie of the Year" in WTP category; in the following seasons he achieved the 2009 English Cadet title and won it all in Junior Rotax in 2010.

2011, his first year in KF3, brought him the European title on Zuera track when he was only 13, and, as already said, in the last season he doubled CIK-FIA gold, along with 3rd place in WSK Master and 2nd in Skusa Supernational.

Therefore, now he has turned just 14, this new Birel Motorsport top driver stands out as one of the best in KF classes and makes the perfect candidate for a lead role in the world of motorsport.

Joining Birel official team means full-time commitment in the new KF class, for a schedule that will include WSK Master and Euro Series championships as well as all CIK-FIA races, with the clear target of reaching the world championship.

Russell, who has already performed a shakedown with Birel 2013 chassis on Lonato circuit, is enthusiastic about his new team:

"I am really satisfied about the agreement with Birel Motorsport, as we are talking of one of the most prestigious builders on the Karting scene and of all the technical means needed for running a brilliant season in 2013. My goal for the future is to make it to car racing, and competing for such an outstanding team is a challenge that will help me reach the top also in KF class, not to mention the excellent technical support and visibility. My first experience with Birel chassis was extremely positive, I was comfortable from the start, especially with all the technical staff." - Great satisfaction for the agreement with the young English talent also on Ronni Sala’s side: "I kept a close eye on George throughout the last two seasons and I deem him one of the fastest and most experienced young drivers I have seen in action in KF classes. He has it all: the attitude of a winner and substantial technical skills."
