Industry News: Racers United Announces Charity Raffle at LSGP

Racers United Charitable Fund in conjunction with Texas Lone Star Grand Prix and the City of Lockhart, Texas today announced they will be conducting a charity raffle throughout the two days of the event which is scheduled for the first weekend of March.

The two day karting event will attract some of the best kart racers from all over the United States to compete through the downtown streets of the historic Texas City with many of the karts reaching speeds of over 80mph. During the event, members of Cole Glasson Racing will be selling raffle tickets for $1 a piece that will go into a 50/50 raffle to be drawn on Sunday of the event. The winning raffle ticket will win half of the raffle proceeds and the remaining half of the proceeds will be donated to Texas CASA organization. Texas CASA is part of a national volunteer movement that began in 1975 when a judge in Seattle decided he needed to know more about the children whose lives were in his hands. The solution he started was using community volunteers as a "voice in court" for abused and neglected children. These Court Appointed Special Advocates® (CASA) provided him with the detailed information he needed to safeguard the children's best interests and ensure that they were placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. The program was so successful that it was copied around the nation.

In addition, the event will be taking private donations from the time of this announcement through the event close and will award 100% of private donations to Texas CASA at the close of the event. Marketing agent for Cole Glasson Racing, Tonya McCallister, stated that the event hopes to raise over $2000 for the charity who helps abused and neglected children. Texas Lone Star Grand Prix promoter, Rob Miller; “It’s my pleasure to allow Racers United to be associated with our program as it is good for any charity opportunity to be involved”. For more information on Racers United, please visit their website at http://www.racersunited.org or the Texas CASA program http://www.texascasa.org

If you are interested in having a series or event involved with Racers United in the 2013 campaign or to volunteer, please contact Tim Glasson at 214-287-0432 or email us at info@racersunited.com . Racers United accepts your tax deductible donations via the website or via this link http://www.austincommunityfoundation.org/?nd=donate_detail&donation_id=972&return_nd=donate

You will receive your tax deductible receipt at the time of the donation. Racers United would like to thank the donors over the last five years who have contributed over $55,000 to charities all over the United States.
